The site was formed after a determined delegation of people from Brinnington addressed the Council meeting of the Smallholdings and Allotments Committee on 13th May 1932 to press them to buy the land for our allotments. We have portaloos and a meeting room/mess hut, and we have some long-standing poultry plots. Contact Dave Shearman david.shearman@ntlworld.com or brinnington.rise.allotments@gmail.com if you would like to add your name to the waiting list for a plot here. Sorry to announce that Mr Fred Ashley passed away last night. Fred had been a plot holder for over 50 years on Brinnington Rise allotments he also served on our committee and for a long time as our secretary. Fred was also a very nice man to know and will be sadly missed, our thoughts are with his family.R.I.P. Fred. 17 January 2015
